Word Mandala 3:This mandala was created with the single word "Peace" to bring in the year 2024.
May this year bring peace and healing to all beings on this earth. May we all be instruments of peace.

The alluring combination of sunlit tall grass and their windblown movement draws attention to the X patterns being created in this stand of September grass. Taking a close look also reveals surprising colors that are missed when only taking the long view.

Out looking for signs of Spring but it was still too cold and this was as close as I could find. Spring was getting a slow start. Soon it will look like a jungle where all was bare.

Dark Red Rose After Rain



This stunning dark red rose after a rain dazzled me while touring Yaddo Gardens, Saratoga Springs, NY. The Yaddo gardens include many varieties of roses, and other species of beautiful flowers. There are beautiful fountains and koi ponds on the grounds providing an inspirational environment for artists to create.

A vibrant red rose with water droplets on its petals is shown in close-up against a background of green leaves. The petals display a natural spiral and the rose appears to be in full bloom.

This image is of the Spanish Colonial architecture Franciscan church at Mission San Jose Tumacacori in southern Arizona. It dates to the late 18th century. Instead of using arches for framing, I chose to lie down on the dirt floor of the mortuary and shoot straight up at the skylight opening to create a frame for my church image. Tumacacari National Historical Park is located in the upper Santa Cruz River Valley of southern Arizona. The park protects the ruins of three Spanish mission communities, two of which are National Historic Landmark sites.
