North of town bears the rugged interior look of British Columbia.A bustling city of Kamloops behind, this confluence of rivers brings a variety of migratory and 'right at home' birds for fantastic bird watching and communing. I recently had an opportunity to 'hang with the swans' (Trumpeters) and had a very sweet connection with one in particular. The north may be cold, but the presence of community and sometimes strange communion tends to show up when it gets below 0 Centigrade!
At Kamloops, the combined Thompson River river flows 15 km from the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers before reaching Kamloops Lake, which is roughly 30 km in length, ending at the town of Savona.
