Description
Glorious and meaningful. Bright with a promise, this Christmas Eve, my father's birthday. He recently passed in February and I was with him for 6 weeks before that event happened. He was glorious in his way, and bright with a promise. I think he always tried to give all he had into anything he did, and none more than taking care of his ending time. I was well equipped to handle anything I needed to. For this I am deeply grateful. But mostly always I loved his 'dadness' - which he offered - various kinds of support in the ways he could. My husband and I did a lot of work to close his life to a rightful end, and we knew the honor of that process. My Dad, the WWII vet, and volunteer at the incredible WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA opened a world for himself and those around him as he brought his radiant self to let the sun shine on others, which some embraced and others did not. This photo has peace in it, to me, with the flock of birds tiny on the horizon making their way to rest and sleep for the night.
